Amy's (Very Delayed) 2010 Holiday Gift Guide

I wasn't planning on doing a gift guide this year but then I thought, "oh, what the heck" and here we are.  The way I see it, just because I'm too broke to buy gifts shouldn't keep other people from expressing love through the purchasing of material goods.

For your brother, who's always weaseling his head in to someone's hands for a scratch.
Kikkerland Head Massager from Urban Outfitters - $6.00

For your soon-to-be husbands awesomely nerdy, Ph.D.-acquiring best friend:
Nerd Power Buttons from Etsy - $11.00

For your dad who still offers to make his 30-year-old daughter pancakes from scratch on her visits home:
Pancake Pen from Williams-Sonoma - $9.95

For your best friend, whose daughter is learning to walk.
WTF Bandages from Urban Outfitters - $8.00

For your monetary minimalist friend who currently keeps his identification cards and cash together using a rubberband-and-black-clip contraption.
The Fold by Leffot - $95.00

For your Midland, Texas born and bred friend, who is awaiting the arrival of his first child:
Texas State Teething Toy from Etsy - $12.00

For your mother who loves burning candles so much that she pretends to ignore her husband's incessant eye-rolling and comments regarding fire insurance:
Soy Candle from Stark Waxing Studio - $24.00

For your sister, who kept Kraft in business during her high school and college years and still lists their infamous pasta product as one of her favorite meals:
Macaroni & Cheese T-shirt from Zazzle - $25.75

For your fiance, who you loves a good timepeice (and you):
Wood Wrist Watch from Tense - $137.55

For the loyal readers of your blog, who let you go on thinking that you're funny/interesting/cool/tolerable:
A Holiday Song Playlist handcrafted by Amy herself - $Priceless.

That's right folks, it's in the works!  Check back for a Christmas Music Spectacular including, but not limited to, the hunky Dean Martin seen above.

New Online Magazines

Because Al Gore's internet understands that virtual magazines like Lonny and Sweet Paul merely wet our appetite and don't fully satisfy our hunger for great online content, it's provided us with even more opportunities to waste time!  That was a close call... I was this close to doing something productive like schoolwork.  Or my laundry.

Holiday Gift Round-Up

For your best girlfriend, who knows the value of a killer accessory:

Druzy Rings by Etsy seller Petra Collection
Not only beautiful, these suckers are likely substantial
enough to assist you in any future bar fight that may arise.

For your menopausal aunt:

Dyson 10" Air Multiplier Bladeless Fan
Sure, it's pricey. But if you're smart and gift it to a family
member with no living heirs, you could see a phenomenal
return on your investment in, oh, 20-30 years time.

For the kid you babysit, who has an imagination even Steven Spielberg would envy:

Monster Hands Temporary Tattoo Set
A child's toy that doesn't involve things like "pixels" or require
12 size D batteries? That's right, folks, you saw it here first!

For your father, who excitedly announces the presence of any Blue Jays or Cardinals that happen to be in the vicinity to anyone who will listen:

$44.00
Disk Birdfeeder
It's, well, for the birds.

For the friend with the house conducive to entertaining, who you always convince to host parties by letting him think that they're his idea:

$16.95
Wine Glass Top Appetizer Plates
Holy hell, how did I not think of this? Now I'll have to
come up with a completely new idea on my way to
becoming rich and legendary. I'll get you for
this, Wine Glass Top Appetizer Plates!

For your tree-hugging Women's Studies professor:

Stainless Steel Compost Pail
This handy (and visually pleasing) number features odor-controlling charcoal
filters. Note:Pachouli-scented filters are not yet available for purchase.

For the avid reader:

The Nook from Barnes & Noble
Amazon's Kindle? That was sooooo 2008.

For your personal chef:

$22.00
Useful Towel
Form and function? Me loves!

For your best friend's almost-born daughter, who will no doubt call you "auntie" and have you wrapped around her tiny, little, precious finger:

$24.00
Mimi's Shoes, written by Christine Tasche
and illustrated by a J. Crew designer
It's like a coffee table book for tots.

For that girl at the office that goes on and on about her "silly little quirks", like how she "just hates it when her food touches!":

$44.00
Square Food Container
Your silly little quirk? Wanting to "accidentally" trip her as
she exits the break room clutching a freshly brewed cup of joe.

For your techie and hip younger brother, who considers his iPhone to be an extension of himself:

$14.95
GelaSkins Mobile Art
While cool to look at, it's best feature is that it forces your
significant other to devise another excuse when scrolling
through your call history besides the ol' "I
thought this was my phone!" bit.

For yourself, the weary traveler:

$295.00
Emelia Travel Set by Sofia Cashmere
Who cares if you're stuck in the middle seat as long as you
are completely encircled by cashmere, am I right?
