The Written Word

It only took me, oh, 29 years to enjoy reading books. But - brace yourself, mom - I've finally begun to read by choice!* And I'm talking real books here, not just People magazine.

I just finished Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert (meh.) and am currently in the middle of reading Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin (which I'd very highly recommend). And this is in addition to all the textbooks I'm reading for school. Which begs the question: Is my head growing in size from all this new knowledge? And if so, is there anyway I can relocate some of that growth to my chest?

But back to books. I don't know if my new hobby is influencing my perceptions, but there appears to be a plethora of cool book-centered "thingies" around right now.

*My parents used to have to bribe me to read books... Not that the $9.99 musical figurine featuring a bear wearing a dress that my mom bought me wasn't worth reading 10 books in 7th grade because IT TOTALLY WAS.)
